T®easu®e at the Edge of the World
An Original Song By The Vacation Pirates
We heard of gold at the end of the map
So we sailed at break of day.
Was it treasures galore or an ancient trap
No one for certain could say
The sun was afire and our spirits were high
As we chased down the rim of the sea
With a toast to the clouds and a wink at the sky
And a life that was wild and was free.
With a bottle in hand and a lie in the wind
We were ready for the big unknown
Searching for the cliff where the ocean would end
The seeds of our tale were sown.
TO THE BRINK
TO THE EDGE
TO THE END WE GO
WITH THE SURGE OF THE TIDES
AND THE EBB AND FLOW
WHERE THE LATITUDES STOP
AND THE PAPER IS BARE
OUR JOURNEYS END AWAITS US THERE
WHERE THE SEA TURNS TO MIST AT THE LIP OF THE VOID
AND THE LAWS OF THE DEEP ARE COMPLETELY DESTROYED
TREASURE... AT THE EDGE OF THE WORLD!
The days rolled by and the ocean stayed wide
The charts fell short and the energy died
No edge, no end, only water and sky
ust a dream built on a beautiful lie
The patience was gone the anger was rare
The crew asked questions and tempers did flare
"Tell us the truth of what you’ve been told
And the source of this whole god damned affair!"
Well, actually… Me previous first mate’s cousin’s deckhand’s cook’s parrot’s navigator pinky swore... There’s treasure at the edge of the world…
OHHHH NOOOOOOO!!!
The sky went black and the wind hit hard
Like a wall in the dark of the night
The chaos exploded around us
We thought we would certainly die
The deck boards creaked
And the mast did crack
And the mainsail tore straight in half
The wind it howled and the spray it stung
There was no chance of making it back
TO THE BRINK
TO THE EDGE
TO THE END WE GO
WITH THE SURGE OF THE TIDES
AND THE EBB AND FLOW
WHERE THE LATITUDES STOP
AND THE PAPER IS BARE
OUR JOURNEYS END AWAITS US THERE
WHERE THE SEA TURNS TO MIST AT THE LIP OF THE VOID
AND THE LAWS OF THE DEEP ARE COMPLETELY DESTROYED
TREASURE... AT THE EDGE OF THE WORLD!
We woke to a calm on a splintered-up deck
And we drifted ashore half-dead
We crawled to a port from the bones of the wreck
With the salt and the blood we had shed.
Then we noticed a sign by a heavy oak door
That we never expected to see
'The Edge of the World' was the name of the bar
And it looked like a joke to me
We pushed through the door and the whole place roared
With a sound that could rattle the sea
With lanterns that burned and a crowd so intense
It was more than we dared to believe
TO THE BRINK
TO THE EDGE
TO THE END WE GO
WITH THE SURGE OF THE TIDES
AND THE EBB AND FLOW
WHERE THE LATITUDES STOP
AND THE PAPER IS BARE
OUR JOURNEYS END AWAITS US THERE
WHERE THE SEA TURNS TO MIST AT THE LIP OF THE VOID
AND THE LAWS OF THE DEEP ARE COMPLETELY DESTROYED
TREASURE... AT THE EDGE OF THE WORLD!
The most beautiful lass ever caught by my eyes
Gracefully walked past us to the rail
She gave me a wink and a beautiful smile
And put the wind back into my sails
Then she turned and the whole room went still
Like the tide had forgotten the sea
With the curve of her breast and a fire in her will
And a gaze that was locked onto me
She poured a drink with sparkling eyes
And said, 'Boys, you look like hell.'
I asked her name and she leaned in close…
'My name’s Treasure… and you’ve been chasin’ me well.'
The moral of the story…
flat earthers are jackwagons.
but - technically…
To the brink!
To the edge!
We were out of our minds
With the surge of the tides
nd the pull of the lines
When the charts fell short
we just walked through the door
She was standin’ there smilin’
we didn’t need more
With a drink in her hand and her eyes burnin’ slow
And a sultry voice sayin’ “now you finally know”
WE FOUND TREASURE… AT THE EDGE OF THE WORLD
TO THE BRINK
TO THE EDGE
TO THE END WE GO
WITH THE SURGE OF THE TIDES
AND THE EBB AND FLOW
WHERE THE LATITUDES STOP
AND THE PAPER IS BARE
OUR JOURNEYS END AWAITS US THERE
WHERE THE SEA TURNS TO MIST AT THE LIP OF THE VOID
AND THE LAWS OF THE DEEP ARE COMPLETELY DESTROYED
TREASURE... AT THE EDGE OF THE WORLD!
